  26. Come on guys - lighten up.  Besides, John, I thought you were married to
  27. a teacher.  At least I remember you saying how little work she did....

  35. Teachers have less say than we do as to what is taught and how it is taught.

  37. Yes, the school system is going to hell.  Why?  The board doesn't care.
  38. The administration doesn't care.  The parents don't care.  The students
  39. don't care.  The constituencies feeding from the Education trough don't care
  40. as long as the dollars flow.  And you take the easy out of blaming it on the
  41. teachers.  Many of them do still care although I cannot for the life of me
  42. understand why.

  44. If you don't like it, complain to the board - they cut education funding so
  45. the athletic programs can be fully funded.  Complain to the administration -
  46. they prepare the budgets and believe me, education isn't a high priority.
  47. Complain to your congresscritter - (s)he votes for the programs which consume
  48. local funds for non-educational purposes.

  50. Look inside your schools instead of just sniping from the outside.  There are
  51. a lot of problems, teachers not being particularly high on the list.
