- Well, you'd best enjoy it while you can--with the steadilly increasing
- number of home shopping channels, the viewership of each is going down
- and, being a major source of revenue both to the cable TV operator and
- to the parent company that owns the shopping channel along with other
- more conventional channels, pressure is being applied to the other
- channels to replace their programming with "paid programming" advertising
- everything from incredible weight loss programs to astounding hair loss
- prevention programs so as not to attract too many people away from the
- shopping channels. Why, before you know it, even the "Leave it to Beaver"
- channel may be occupied by "paid programming" sixteen hours a day....
