- A Claddagh ring is an Irish tradition. In Ireland it is usually a wedding ring.
- On the East Coast it varies from wedding ring (traditional Irish) down to a
- promise ring. On the West Coast they are virtually unheard of. I gave my
- sweetheart one as a promise ring.
-
- The ring has three components:
- 1) The band ends in hands about the decoration. These symbolize friendship?
- 2) The decoration has a heart on it. This symbolizes love.
- 3) The heart has a crown on it. This symbolizes faith?
-
- If you can get a Signals catalog (public radio), it has a Claddagh as one of
- its items. Although that is the high-end of the pricing for one.
-
- Peace.
