- Umm... Folks, for my two denarii it is pretty clear that Ed wants
- to be wanted for his own self, and thinks that this *happening*
- is vanishingly unlikely.

- So, which particular virtue is involved in telling someone that
- their belief about themself is unimportant?

- Freely granted, if I knew Ed rather than his virtual instance, I
- would probably be sorely tempted to pick him up and shake him.
- But almost all of Ed being tooth-gratingly obnoxious seems to
- be sourced in a belief that he's loathsome. Acting like he's
- loathsome is going to reinforce that tooth grating stuff.
