- Because there's a big difference in making a joke between insiders and
- pointing at an outsider. I've never been seriously harrassed for being of
- german descent, so I'm likely to find a joke about German-Americans
- at worst non-offensive. I have at times faced real discrimination
- and harrassment for being a female, so a joke about women had better be
- funny or it's going to push my buttons. Nothing inconsistent about that.
