  25. 1)  Would you consider a person who had one or two dates a month with people
  26. that he/she never went out with again to be non-single?

  28. 2)  Would you consider a person who went out as often as he/she liked with
  29. groups of friends to be non-single?

  31. If you really are excluding these two groups of people from your definition
  32. of single, then I guess I'd have to agree with you that I think most people
  33. would find it difficult to be happy without friends and a social life.  I
  34. think it would also be tough to be happy if you felt that you didn't have
  35. anyone who really cared about you (but family, friends, and cats are useful
  36. here.)  A couple of dates here and there, while good for your self-esteem, 
  37. doesn't really make a huge difference in the long run.  It would be easier 
  38. to be happy with one good friend in your life than no friends and some 
  39. superficial dates.
