  14. Less than  24 hours ago, I posted an article calling all of you
  15. to vote on anonymous postings. The UVic system allows me to read
  16. news but it's getting a bit wonky about posting. You are reading
  17. this about 24 hours after my writing it, but here goes:

  19. It has been brought to my attention that some people actually
  20. like anonymous postings. This was indeed a surprise.

  22. Others have pointed out that the anonymous postings are fine as
  23. long as there are no personal ads.

  25. Yes, some people are shy, and for these people the anonymous
  26. thing is fine. It gives them an opportunity to voice ideas and
  27. opinions as well as solve personal problems with our help.

  29. I know many of you by name only. I know some of you by the
  30. aspects of your personalities that you portray on the net. To
  31. most of you, I am just a bunch of words on a screen. I think
  32. I'm still rather anonymous because most of you have never met
  33. me in person, or had a conversation with me on the phone.

  35. My argument is that News Groups are quite anonymous to begin
  36. with. I personally see no need for any increased anonymity.

  38. You may still vote on the issue by sending me email here or
  39. at my other account. As promised, I will post the results on the
  40. 27'th of January, and I'll let you decide our plan of action
  41. with your votes.
