- You know, I've never really felt that way. Whenever I watch an old movie, it
- usually feels really dated to me. There are exceptions, but not too many. A
- good example was "From Here To Eternity." I thought a lot about it was really
- good, but I HATED the beach scene with Burt Lancaster. NOBODY acts like that
- in real life. It was so stylized, like on a stage or something. This kind of
- acting seems to have been common back then. I far prefer realism. The same
- goes for the look and feel of the film too, and the special FX (although whenever
- I say that, I get accused of being a typically shallow techno-nerd with little
- or no appreciation of real art. Hmmm).
