  12. One of my current genealogy projects is to assemble a data base
  13. on all of the Badenhops in the United States.  Thus far, I have
  14. found six Badenhop families who immigrated to the United States
  15. from the German Kingdom of Hannover.  They all settled in Henry
  16. County Ohio in the New Hannover Settlement there.
  17.  
  18. To date, I have over 1,000 names in the data base.  These include
  19. both ancestors and descendants of these six families.  I would like
  20. to make it as complete as possible.
  21.  
  22. If any of you on the network know a Badenhop or Badenhoop, or find
  23. one in your local phone book, would you please send me their names
  24. and address so that I can include them in the data base?  Be sure
  25. to send them directly to me and do not post them on the network.

  27. There were four Badenhop's who served in the Civil War.  One was
  28. listed as Ernest Badenhop from Georgia.  Does anyone have information
  29. on this Ernest Badenhop?   Conrad Badenhop, of New York City, was
  30. another one.  In his pension application, he stated that he was on
  31. business in South Carolina when the war broke out there and was forced
  32. to join the Confederate Army.  Someone had made a notation on his
  33. pension request to the effect that this was evidence that men were
  34. "forced" to join the Confederate Army!
  35.  
  36. My goal in all of this is to produce a reference document for future
  37. generations to use.
