  26. My only response to this has no basis in personal research, just obser-
  27. vations and opinions, but I just wanted to add that before judging 
  28. Noriega, it would do one well to understand that he, too, was a good
  29. friend of the US like Sadaam Hussein. And I don't think we'll ever get
  30. the real story of the relations between the US and Noriega/Hussein. I
  31. for one believe that US interests before and after the breakoff in 
  32. relations have a great deal to do with how we are lead to describe him
  33. both from the White House and in the press.

  35. It always strikes my somewhat like the constant shuffling of friends and
  36. enemies like Eastasia and Eurasia (or whatever it was) in Orwell's 1984.
