- Did anyone see and have a reaction to last night's "First Person with
- Maria Shriver"? I think the title was something cheesy like "The Gay
- Nineties" with a sensational subtitle. I only saw about the last half
- and have random comments.
-
- I know it's "just TV" but I I kept help be a bit annoyed and disappointed
- by these programs. (Sorry about my typing.)m of these programs.
-
- I was especially struck by the theme of "Churchiness" through several of the segmen
- segments I saw. One the one hand, most of the battles are waged against the
- authority of either the Church or a church. On the other hand, gay people
- themselves are represented as seeking validation through the Church or a
- church. I'm deeply dismayed by this -- it seems that we are only recreating
- potential situations of oppression. In my opinion, and in this I am unanimous,
- deliver me from Dignity, Integrity, Concerned Lutherans, MCC...
