- I think this vote is somewhat ill-conceived. We could certainly have
- done with a bit of editing of the "proposals", rather than just
- including other people's articles that were plainly intended as food
- for thought rather than concrete options. What does it mean for me to
- vote for a proposal that offers "ideas I could see as possibilities"?
- What exactly is proposal #8?
-
- I also don't see why it is necessary to select just one proposal. The
- whole point of the discussion period in news.groups will be to
- consider possible changes, so we might as well offer all reasonably
- well supported proposals from the outset. Indeed, it's not clear to
- me why we are going through all this discussion here beforehand, when
- we could just as easily be doing it on news.groups. The presence
- there of phobes is a red herring; we know who we are and we can ignore
- anyone there with a bee in their bonnet. Meantime, those many
- soc.motssers who don't particularly care about the fine details of
- reorganisation are being bothered with it here anyway.
-
- I'll vote nevertheless, but I won't let the vote result stop me from
- advocating what I may see as superior organisations.
