  23. My newly-elected Congressman is Peter Blute of Massachusetts.  Unfortunately,  
  24. he is somewhere to the right of Dan Quayle.  I wrote to him a few years ago  
  25. when he was my state rep, expressing my support for the Mass Gay Rights Bill  
  26. (which finally PASSED after 17 years of trying).  He never answered me.  I  
  27. wrote to him today about lifting the ban, but I suspect he is a lost cause.

  34. I think this is VERY important.  I've written to Nunn, Blute, Clinton & Aspin  
  35. today.  We should all keep writing and keep the pressure on.  But don't fall  
  36. into the politics of hysteria---let the other side keep doing that.
