  27. The same arguments used against integrating the military back in 
  28. the 40's are being used today to keep homosexuals out of the
  29. military.   "Gays/blacks are oversexed and perverted", "they'll
  30. disrupt unity and harmony in the units", "Some people just can't
  31. stand being around people of THEIR kind", ... etc.

  33. I find it interesting that Colin Powell is apparently against
  34. allowing homosexuals into the military.  That's interesting.
  35. If one Harry S. Truman didn't have the guts to integrate the
  36. military, General Powell wouldn't be in the position to have
  37. such an opinion.  The U.S. Armed Forces is perhaps the most
  38. racially integrated institution in the world, but only because
  39. Harry S. ignored the same arguments that are being used against
  40. gays today.
