- Well, sort of.
-
- Clay Bond taught me, albeit indirectly, that sometimes it pays to read
- past what appears, on the surface, to be hateful and vulgar. Several
- years ago I would have reacted very differently to Matthew's contributions.
- He is not for everyone; but then, who _is_ on this forum? There are gems
- to be found amongst all that hard, black coal.
-
- I do not read postings by people who are clearly homophobic or have thinly-
- veiled agendas of homophobia. Those people are in my kill file. We all
- have our hot buttons, and *X*, bless him, can push many common ones
- simultaneously in one posting. I mostly laugh out loud at his rantings,
- because I believe that he usually is not serious or hateful.
-
- Strong opinions? Sure. Do I agree with everything he says? No. But
- hardly reasons to kill-file him. And he really _is_ funny at times.
- My only regret is that he seems to have difficulties with people I feel
- genuine friendship towards. But it is no different in my "real" (non-email)
- life; there are people I simply do not mix together in social situations.
- So?
-
- There you go, *X*. Now I must leave to come over across DeAnza Blvd. to
- change your kitty litter.
