- In article <C1EBGM.GJ5@world.std.com>, rik@world.std.com (Rik Ahlberg)
- writes this:
- >Can anyone point me in the direction of specific resources (printed matter
- >or electronic files) related to coming out at work?
-
- >I'm quite out at work and need some resources to cite for those who want
- >to learn (be they closeted or straight) what the coming out process
- >involves and how to deal with the whole enchilada of "gayness in the
- >workplace".
-
- I can highly recommend a book entitled, _Can Homophobia be Cured?_
- by Bruce Hilton. It is an easily readable book (i.e., not dense)
- that addresses the typical questions raised about homosexuality
- (and homophobia) in a very straightforward fashion. I've lent the
- book out to friends and co-workers (and my partner's co-workers)
- so often, that I am now on my fifth copy (since it is often not
- returned, but this is one of those books that I am happy not to recall :-) )
-
- It doesn't specifically address "gayness in the workplace," so maybe
- it's not appropriate for your needs, but it may be worth examining
- to be sure.
