- What I have discovered is that people pick up on how you present the
- information as a way of figuring out how to react to it. So if you
- have a tough time talking about it, and talk around it before spitting
- it out, people sense you're uneasy, and they'll become uneasy. If you
- seem relaxed and happy about it, then they'll be more relaxed.
-
- I got the whole gamut of reactions from my friends, from "omigod you're
- going to HELL!" to "well it's about time you figured it out!"
-
- When I've treated as less-than-traumatic information, people seem to
- be less than traumatized by it. So make sure you feel comfortable.
-
- The bottom line -- and it cannot be repeated enough -- is that real
- friends won't care. It may take some people longer to get used to it
- than others, but people are friends with YOU, not with your sexual
- orientation. (Unless of course you're been sleeping with them, and that
- may take a little extra explaining, a little extra time...)
