  29. One of my gay friends referred him to me, so I went and made an appointment 
  30. (wearing my freedom rings).

  32. Got there early for my appointment and was talking with one of the female 
  33. hair stylist who couldn't remember how many guys were in the Village 
  34. People.  I told her and find out she wants to do YMCA for her friend's 
  35. birthday party in April.  She asked me if I'd be interested in helping, so 
  36. I volunteered.

  38. She said to leave my name and number for her before I left so she could get 
  39. a hold of me.

  41. So I do the small talk bit with David (the hair stylist) and then we start 
  42. talking about the bars in the area and how difficult it is to meet gay 
  43. people in the town that I live in (a small city, very religious, 
  44. conservative, and very closeted).  There's a city 30 miles away that is 
  45. home of the Univeristy of Arkansas that I visit incessently to visit all my 
  46. gay friends (and get on the Net).  He says that there are a lot of men in 
  47. my town and that he'd be happy to give me a call and let me know of any 
  48. social functions that popped up.  He also talked about this idea he's been 
  49. thinking about, inviting a group of men over for a Saturday brunch.  He 
  50. said he'd keep me in mind if I was interested.

  52. So my hair got cut, I paid (and tipped) him, and gave him my name and 
  53. number to give to the other hair stylist, and he gives me his name and 
  54. number.
