  16. I know, you were serious... I believe that Congress is currently
  17. debating on whether or not to connect the Congressional e-mail system
  18. through a gateway to the internet.  I would imagine that the white
  19. house is in a similar situation.  The problem right now is that most
  20. likely the people who sort through all of the mail for 1600
  21. Pennsylanvia Ave., NW; Washington, DC 20500 probably aren't trained
  22. for e-mail, and those that are couldn't handle the potential load
  23. (remembering that gateways come in from popular places like Prodigy
  24. Compu$erve, and fidonet).  Until then, the only email is via FAX at
  25. 202-456-2883.

  27. But... if you happen to come across a backdoor into the mail system,
  28. please share it.  I love writing to my officials, but I hate the cost
  29. to our woodlands.
