  24. i remember the first time i smelled picasso.  it was at
  25. the lesbian singles rap group at the center on highland (LA).
  26. during the break, we were all hanging out in the
  27. parking lot.  one of the regulars drives up, steps out of
  28. her car, and walks over to say hello.  she's dressed to kill,
  29. and is wearing red red lipstick.  she approaches my friend, to
  30. give her a kiss.  my friend turns her head, says, 'no, you'll
  31. get lipstick all over me, get away.'  this woman then turns
  32. to me, grabs me, and says, 'i'm going to get lipstick all over
  33. you.'  i was a bit intimidated, having just moved to LA from
  34. Iowa.  I had never encountered such a creature before.

  36. but she smelled great.  i told her so.  she said, 'it's picasso,
  37. my dear.'  i followed her to her car, ah, but she was leaving
  38. to meet a date.

  40. my friend, who had a bit of a crush on me, bought picasso
  41. for herself the next day.  but it never quite has the same
  42. effect on me, unless it's combined with killer clothes,
  43. lots of lipstick, and a creative approach to lipstick
  44. transfer.

  46. most of the dykes i knew at the time ('87) wore men's
  47. cologne.  drakkar was quite popular at the time.
  48. when i feel boyish, i'll wear grey flannel.
