  18. This sounds too much like the arms race of yesteryear where
  19. we first had missles, then anti-missle missles, then
  20. anti- anti-missle missle missles, etc.  Why not just remove
  21. the laws and policies that support discrimination e.g. the
  22. ban on gays in the military, the inequalities created due to
  23. the legal institution of marriage being available only to
  24. straights, etc.  This would be more constructive, would make
  25. for a smaller government, and would see less resistance from
  26. those who are bigoted, ignorant, or fearful.
