  24. I suspect there is some statistical error in this analysis.
  25. National income is a well understood, often measured phenomena,
  26. and the figures are accurate.  However, breaking down national
  27. income into whos and whats is less precise.  While knowing
  28. black or hispanic or female incomes is fairly straightforward,
  29. knowing 'gay' income is considerably less so.  Who are the
  30. surveyors going to see first?  The most visible gays.  And
  31. which group of gays is most visible?  Probably white middle-aged
  32. men.  And so what we are seeing is what we already know:  
  33. white middle-age men have higher incomes than the rest of
  34. society.
