- Hey everybody!
-
- I just wanted to post a quick note saying that I am OK, and
- that it looks like everything is going to be fine. I had always
- wanted to know what 10 inches of rain looked like, especially
- since it fell in 12 hours. Well, now I know. I hope I never
- see it again.
-
- The only thing I am worried about is my car. My shoes (which had been
- in the floorboards) floated over and touched me on the legs just
- before it gave up the ghost. I managed to start it today, but the
- poor thing is starting to look a little haggard.
-
-
- "How much rain fell in how concentrated an area?"
-
- The river was flowing in TWO directions! On the south side of
- town, the river flowed south towards the Gulf. On the north side
- of town the river flowed north trying to get back into the swamp
- from whence it came. It was the strangest thing I had ever seen!
-
-
- Still, my house is on three feet of cinder blocks, and the water
- was lapping at the window sills last night at about 2am.
-
-
-
- Damp, but carring on,
- Rendell
