  45. Actually, I was quite disheartened to learn that Sowell actually spewed
  46. out this garbage. He is a renowned free-market black economist who has
  47. written incisively about the harmful effects to blacks of affirmative
  48. action programs and institutionalized governmental welfare. Clarence
  49. Thomas referred to Sowell during his confirmation hearings as one of the
  50. major influences in the development of his philosophy. I've read two of
  51. his books, _Knowledge and Decisions_, and _Markets and Minorities_, both
  52. informative and well-written.

  54. Sadly, not all free-marketeers are also libertarians when it comes to
  55. human rights. I hope that with respect to Sowell, it's a matter of
  56. misinformation as to the scope of the problem of public sex
  57. rather than simple bigotry.

  65. Sowell wrote and reply to _Forbes_. I'll let you take the low road
  66. and remind the readers about the late Malcolm, Sr.
