- Actually, I was quite disheartened to learn that Sowell actually spewed
- out this garbage. He is a renowned free-market black economist who has
- written incisively about the harmful effects to blacks of affirmative
- action programs and institutionalized governmental welfare. Clarence
- Thomas referred to Sowell during his confirmation hearings as one of the
- major influences in the development of his philosophy. I've read two of
- his books, _Knowledge and Decisions_, and _Markets and Minorities_, both
- informative and well-written.

- Sadly, not all free-marketeers are also libertarians when it comes to
- human rights. I hope that with respect to Sowell, it's a matter of
- misinformation as to the scope of the problem of public sex
- rather than simple bigotry.

- Actually, I plan to read the article to see firsthand exactly what
- Sowell wrote and reply to _Forbes_. I'll let you take the low road
- and remind the readers about the late Malcolm, Sr.
