  20. I loved the LDS sequence in the season premiere, and Odo
  21. shows great promise.

  23. It has been established that Odo is a sort of orphan. He does not know his
  24. origins. He is a total outsider to the human spectrum of beings, can
  25. shapeshift at will, and maintains the form you see as Odo for the
  26. convenience of teh humans. Since he has the capability of taking any form he
  27. wishes, gender really has little meaning in his case.  That coupled with the
  28. DAX factor ( DAX was an old man the last time Sisko worked with.. they
  29. worked together) It could be that they are positioned to say a lot about
  30. gender and social interaction with characters like these.
  31. rememebr that the last time a character of Dax's race was in ST/TNG, it was
  32. the episode with a gender bender theme too)
