-
- Comments: data analyzed by Knight-Ridder newspapers, taken from the
- last census.
-
- A great decade for women, altogether. Although percentage of workforce
- only increase 3.7%, representation in management increased 11.9%! We're
- very close to appropriate representation of women in management (that is,
- where women's % representation in management = % representation in workforce.)
-
- Note that no attempt was made to determine "type" of management
- representation; as has been pointed out before, the women could all be low
- level managers. However, that's not really the point of these stats; what
- they do demonstrate is a trend that should make feminists--and equalists--very
- happy. Things are improving, and at an impressive rate.
