  26. in Frankfurt.  However, I lived in Dallas (Richardson is a suburb)
  27. for about 4 years.

  35. You're right, of course, about the Bay Area.  In Dallas there are
  36. many Mexicans (many illegals), but seriously most of the people
  37. don't see them, except as someone sweeping up the floor of their
  38. local restaurant.  I never lived anywhere in the states where every
  39. nightclub has a) one elderly black man in the men's restroom, handing
  40. you a paper towel and offering smelly things, and b) a few Mexicans
  41. walking around with broom and scoop, keeping th floor clean.

  43. In Colorado (my home state) we have a large Spanish American and
  44. Indian/Spanish American population.  They don't seem to be ignored
  45. as in the south.  We always offered bilingual education and there
  46. were Spanish language radio and tv available.

  48. However, back to the original comment, you see a lot of immigration
  49. in the Bay Area, but probably 90% of the rest of the states sees
  50. much less.

  56. I wish there was grapefruit across from my office!  But even if
  57. I could see anything other than building from my office, it'd
  58. probably be Turks (the Mexicans of Germany) picking apples or
  59. plums.
