  16.          He is the Greatest--on the earth below and in the heavens
  17.          above, in realms where our sight cannot reach and of which
  18.          our minds cannot conceive. His is the absolute and perfect
  19.          greatness. The greatness we know is all relative, and all of it is
  20.          a witness to His being the Greatest. No greatness can be
  21.          compared to His. The greatest thing we are able to know still
  22.          has needs. How could the absolute Greatest have needs?
  23.          Allah al-'Azim has no needs. He is the satisfier of all needs.
  24.          We call some among us great. Greatness, in man, depends
  25.          upon one's work, one's achievement. We call some among
  26.          these great ones 'greatest'--those whose work is greatest.
  27.          The work of these is nothing in comparison to the billions of
  28.          greater works of Allah al-'Azim. The greatest man is one of
  29.          Allah's works. The greatest work that he has done is one of
  30.          Allah's works. Allah's humblest work, a blade of grass with
  31.          its pulsating cells transforming the earth, the water, the air,
  32.          the light of the sun into life, color, and sustenance for all His
  33.          other works--all this is a factory containing mysteries that
  34.          no botanist could venture to imagine. For seeing the great-
  35.          ness of the Greatest, that blade of grass is a witness vast
  36.          enough to surpass our comprehension. You who cannot
  37.          even understand the mystery in the creation of that blade of
  38.          grass must compare it to countless other things visible and
  39.          invisible, reachable with all your telescopes and micro-
  40.          scopes, unknowable in your wildest imagination, to see His
  41.          greatness.
  42.          In your minuteness and awe, you must prostrate and
  43.          glorify Him, and pray to be included among those servants
  44.          who meet His pleasure and are accepted by Him.
  45.            'Abd al-'Azim is he to whom Allah appears in His perfect
  46.          greatness. And from the power generating from the right he
  47.          sees to the condemnation of the ones who oppose the right.
  48.          He appears above others in magnihcence and strength as his
  49.          inner greatness is reflected in his outer appearance.
