  21. The Signal Processing Laboratory at Tampere University of
  22. Technology is offering a one-year study Program for graduate 
  23. and undergraduate Electrical Engineering students. Upon 
  24. satisfactory completion of the Program, interested students
  25. may apply for admission to the MSc Program, and further to a 
  26. PhD research study at the University. Holders of BSc degree need 
  27. additional six to twelve month of studying to get the MSc degree.

  29. The Signal Processing Program is aimed at senior under-graduates
  30. and first-year graduate students in Electrical Engineering and
  31. Computer Science. The program has emphasis on modern digital
  32. signal processing methods and new applications giving a solid
  33. background both for graduate studies and industrial employment. 
  34.  
  35. The courses offered in the Program range from basic intensive
  36. DSP  to  more advanced  and  specialized  topics  in nonlinear 
  37. processing, HDTV, digital audio, new signal processors and VLSI 
  38. systems design.
  39.  
  40. The Signal Processing Laboratory has modern equipment and
  41. facilities. Over fifty staff members in the Laboratory are involved 
  42. in advanced research in the theory and applications of digital 
  43. signal processing in TV, multimedia, audio, speech and VLSI systems.

  45. The official language in the Program is English.
