thanks to all that responded to the question concerning women's ankles.
all were interesting. the most interesting was sent through email because
of concern for the tender eyes of the general net population. it was the
answer that, although unexpected, explains what i heard and did not
understand. so for those that may be too embarrassed or insulted to read
on skip to the next article now.

the original question concerned what japanese men allege the ankle tells
about a woman. it is similar to the english/american saying about a man's
nose (or foot) size and the size of his penis. since no one believes this
saying about men (at least i hope they don't) i assume that no one in
japan really believes this about women: the thinner the ankle the tighter
the vagina.
