- A couple of former colleagues form the States have done this. It went
- like the following. You are allowed to use your US drivers license for
- a year in Germany. After this time you can have your license transferred
- into a german one - all you have to do is prove that you have driven
- in Germany during that time (like, by actually having a car or
- having a letter from someone who states that you have driven his).

- I don't know if you can have it transferred before the year ends, you
- most certainly aren't allowed to drive without a german license for
- longer than a year.

- If I remember right, the cost to transfer the license wasn't very
- high (around 100 DM or so).
