  17. A couple of former colleagues form the States have done this. It went
  18. like the following. You are allowed to use your US drivers license for
  19. a year in Germany. After this time you can have your license transferred
  20. into a german one - all you have to do is prove that you have driven
  21. in Germany during that time (like, by actually having a car or
  22. having a letter from someone who states that you have driven his).

  24. I don't know if you can have it transferred before the year ends, you
  25. most certainly aren't allowed to drive without a german license for
  26. longer than a year.

  28. If I remember right, the cost to transfer the license wasn't very
  29. high (around 100 DM or so).
