- There's a most plausibly an apocryphal story about the naming of
- Dhaka. Some Moghul general wanted to set up an encampment on the
- bank of the river. He asked his drummer to beat on his drum [Dhak],
- and the reach of the drum beats delineated the boundaries of a
- new city to be henceforth called "Dhaka". I agree, quite apocryphal.
