  26. limits of land-based airpower? BTW, do you know of the story that, in the 
  27. political negotiations that lead effectively to the demise of the Fleet Air
  28. Arm, the RAF contrived to 'move' an island 2000 miles (was it Ascension?) to 
  29. make their case??

  37. Isn't this the nub of the matter? The Navy feel that the Air Force were 
  38. dishonest in their undertakings to the government of the day as to what cover 
  39. they could effectively give, if made responsible for the air defence of the 
  40. Fleet. IMO, the Navy have the right of it.
