  17. I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned, in connection with the discussion of
  18. whether military aircraft have actually been brought down by small arms
  19. fire, that one of the versions of what killed Manfred von Richtofen
  20. holds that he was hit by rifle fire fron the ground.  Please note that I'm
  21. not claiming that it's true, only that people have said it before.
