  27. This explains the cruise missile they were using for "smart weapon"
  28. research - basically something with a brain sophisticated enough to
  29. loiter above a battlefield and recognize enemy armor. When an enemy
  30. has been recognized it attacked using cluster bombs. This was, I be-
  31. live, in Nova on PBS.

  33. What happens to the missile afterwards? I don't see why it can't be
  34. programmed to turn around again and fly home for retrieval/reuse -
  35. and if the range is too far, there would be a self-destruct option,
  36. or it could be used without explosives on a second target.

  38. Also, (to bring up a previous thread) this version would be more 
  39. suitable for dropping MREs over friendlies - preferrably with small 
  40. parachutes - than the version with the warhead (for obvious reasons).
