- Some information that your friend might not have had:
-
- The Clinical Research Group at Mt. Zion, UCSF is currently conducting
- Phase I and II trials of a new anti-CMV drug: HPMPC. I know because I was the
- 19th person to ever get the drug. They found out that the dose I
- received was to high and I sustained some kidney damage which we hope will clearup over time. It has gotten better but has not totally resolved.
- This is a compound that was discovered in the former republic of
- Czechoslovakia.
-
- HPMPC is very effective in eliminating CMV from the body, as found by
- folowing seman samples, now they are trying to find a way to do it
- safely.
-
- So your friend is sort of right...since HPMPC is not only effective against
- CMV retinitis but against CMV systemicly.
