  21. Mathcad 3.1 for Windows/DOS and have recently purchased a Sun/SPARC
  22. version (more on that later.)

  34.     Although MathCad 3.1 has a subset of Maple (which I don't
  35. use), I don't think of it as a computer algebra system.  I mostly use
  36. it for simple data analysis (when verifying the performance of data
  37. acq systems), for documentation, and for tedious calculations that
  38. have to get revisited from time to time.

  40.     I like the "report" output format, except that there is no
  41. automatic method for generation of headers/footers or page numbers.
  42. The tool boxes and online help are great. The GUI user interface is
  43. fairly good (except I don't like the fact that when it generates an
  44. error, it points to it, but the cursor is somewhere else....

  48.     Now for my question: Anyone sucessfully using MathCad 3.1 on a
  49. Sun/Sparc running 4.1..  with Openwindows 3.0?  I can't edit in the
  50. file selection boxes (not really a big deal), and I can't use any of
  51. the CONTROL keys (such as CTL-6 to get a superscript) which makes it
  52. nearly useless. I'm still trying to sort this out with the support
  53. folks, but (in part because I was away) its not done yet.
