- I would like to do reseach on apparent resolution in function of pixel
- depth (bits/pixel). Could someone forward me, or post the references on
- this subject?

- More specifically, I am interested in generating a high resolution binary
- image from a medium resolution gray scale image. One immediate application
- for this technique is OCR where threshold-only-based binarization of the
- original image causes many problems including broken lines, etc.
