- The latest ENSO Diagnostic Advisory from NMC on 1/12 stated:
-
- "The combination of long-lived positive SST anomalies, normal progression
- of the annual cycle and a strong intraseasonal oscillation has resulted in
- the strengthening of ENSO-like conditions in December 1992."
-
- In other words, this is a continuation of the previous ENSO of 91-92, a
- flare-up if you will.... The massive rains that we had here this month are
- of the magnitude of the rains experienced in the winter of '83... during
- the 82-83 ENSO event, a warm event of some magnitude.
-
- Keep in mind: I only know what I read. Many other ENSO experts may know more.

- Mr. Foster... may I remind you that it was I, and not anyone from OU who landed
- the first tornado sighting of the new year... and I think finding one in a
- suburban area such as this is an achievement compared to you folks who can just
- sit in a LARGE field and watch them cavort on by for hundreds of miles....
-
- You guys have it EASY in the midwest. I didn't even try, it was too EASY!
- (SO THERE! TAKE THAT YOU OKIES!)
-
- :-) **2 (that's squared, Marc, I know that calculus has been tough on you!)
