- Fluke is generally considered the standard good DVM. There's a
- whole range of Fluke DVMs, starting at around $60 and going all the way
- up to the ScopeMeter. Fry's has a good selection.
-
- Fluke is noted for having good protection circuitry in their DVMs.
- It's quite difficult to fry one of those things. You can do things like
- plug into 110VAC on ohms scale and not hurt them at all. Worst case,
- you blow a fuse, and they pack a spare one inside the case. And
- you get years on a 9V battery. I have a model 21, and am quite happy
- with it.
