- I don't recall the exact health implications (but a liver disorder sounds
- reasonable) but the HUFA content (Highly Unsaturated Fatty Acid) of
- freshwater animals is different from that of marine animals. Marine animals
- are not able to digest freshwater foodstuffs as well as marine based and
- will eventually develop a nutritional disorder. I believe Moe discusses this
- in one of his books, R. Brosseau (I hope I spelled your name right!) has
- discussed this on both the net and in a FAMA article, and it was also
- discussed at MACNA IV this year. So, at least in this case the salesman
- wasn't feeding you a line. Actually I'm pretty impressed that the salesman
- was that well informed.
