  13. my 30 g all-glass developed a leak in the middle of the night and all
  14. the water ran out by morning. i removed the bottom plastic strip and
  15. discovered that there is a 3 mm gap between the bottom plate and the
  16. front plate.  the silicone filling this gap deteriorated causing the
  17. catastrophic leak. is this gap normal? how can i remove the silicone,
  18. i.e. is this a chemical to dissolve it, so that i can re-seal the
  19. tank?
