- I took a woodworking course at North Carolina State University and they
- showed us the technique of using the jointer to thickness plane boards over
- 3 feet in length. They had a 12" power jointer and I saw quite a few
- people using the jointer instead of one of the thickness planers. It's not
- a technique that I personally use or endorse, but this seems to be a valid
- method for thicknessing boards.
