- Doing the wood part is easy, with 2" non-T&G, and fairly cheap.
- You may find that a small drill will reduce nail splits when
- nailing close to the end. In the middle, get the right nails and
- you don't need to drill.

- This is the tougher part, depending on what finish you
- have. If you're going to refinish the whole room, no
- further problem. If you were going to only finish the
- damaged part, you may be in trouble depending on what kind
- of finish you have. Matching old Verathane with new just
- isn't possible to get right. Water resistant stain finishes
- can be fixed, but need to be waxed once in a while.
