- Two summers ago (i.e. Dec.- Feb. down-under) I saw a shark (fin) (about 15
- cm triangular, dark) on Pittwater (a Sydney inlet), slowly cruising in the
- opposite direction from me about 50 m away. It was definitely not a
- dolphin. I kept my direction and so did the shark, but after some 10 s
- after me sighting the fin it slowly descended.
-
- Two weeks ago, at Longreef (Fisherman's Beach) I saw a `stationary' shark
- fin and as I was getting closer I saw a splash and it disappeared. I guess
- that fish would have been not longer than about 1 m. There are sharks
- about, but they seem to leave windsurfers alone (surf-board riders are a
- different story though).
