- Ned, where do you put your foot for downhauling? On my sails, I try to
- have the foot (of the sail) almost touch the pulley and I use a pulley
- that ends at the end of the mast base. I don't see how you'd hold the
- mast while pulling.

- I find starting with 1/2 downhaul then 6 inches of extra outhaul and then
- down haul again works well. (followed by releasing the outhaul, of course).
