  11. I am trying to record some animation produced on
  12. my workstation(SGI 4D/VGX) but I have some problems
  13. trying to make a good choice of the VCR recorder.
  14.  
  15. I have to choose between :
  16.    - Sony EVO-9650-P Hi8 frame-by-frame  and
  17.    - Panasonic AG 7750 S-VHS frame-by-frame .
  18.  
  19. If I choose Sony, I have to use another S-VHS recorder to
  20. record from Hi8 caset to S-VHS tape, because we use generally
  21. S-VHS tapes.
  22. The solution with Hi8 is cheaper than whit Panasonic.
  23. (I use the VCR with a Tektronix Avanzar video-interface for
  24.  SGI and Video Composer from Wavefront).

  26. The questions are :

  28.    - Which is the difference between Hi and S-VHS from the
  29.      point of view of the video image quality ?
  30.   
  31.    - Do I lose to much quality of video image trying to record
  32.      from Hi8 to S-VHS ?
