- It does. I find the Sony's (at least the 525) had a more flat response curve.
- (However, my three units are Panasonics, for other reasons. Four, if you count
- the own I bought my parents.)

- That's one reason why I have Panasonics, but I'm certain that whatever top tier
- manufacturer you choose, you'll hear from those who love 'em and those who hate
- 'em. Sony seems to be taking a beating now, alt least for their monitors.
-
- Why do I buy Panasonics? Because 10 years ago, when I went to buy my first
- machine, I noticed there was a particular model that all the video stores in
- this area were using for their rental unit. (Remember when you could *rent* a
- VCR for an evening?!) I figured that if it was good enough for that kind of
- abuse, it was good enough for me. And it's still in service--even though the
- kids have stuff wet paper towels and Lord knows what else into it. (I am *not*
- claiming today's machines are equally durable, however.) So I keep buying
- Panasonics, and they don't disappoint me. (Battery backup would be nice,
- though.)

- Other recent postings have made me curious about JVCs. You might want to look
- into them. I have no personal experience.
