- Well, the problem with the 696 is that you can hear a really annoying
- popping sound in the stereo soundtrack. On my machine, I get pops in
- the left or right channel, and sometimes, the machine just goes into
- mono sound mode instantaneously (after a pop).

- It is really annoying. Kinda defeats the purpose of having HiFi VCR.
- I don't know if the 595 has the problem too.

- the 696 are basically the same machine but the 696 has the flying erase
- head in addition.
