- I'm glad that others are also thinking about giving Sony a hard time
- about this. The sound quality really sucks. The popping, etc. in
- the HiFi track is really unacceptable. I will definitely write to
- Sony and bitch. Also, I will call them up and see what that accomplishes.
- This really sucks! I mean, I already had a perfectly fine VCR. I
- purchased the 696 to get good quality HiFi sound and what do I get?
- A lot of crackling.

- There is absolutely no point in buying a HiFi VCR if it's going to

- The customer service number for Sony is 1-800-222-SONY. I suggest
- that everyone with problems with their 696 give them a call and
- demand an upgrade (or something). Maybe we can get an R5 out of it?
